BIM Manager – Revit Architecture
About the Job
Overview:
Our client is seeking someone to spearhead all of the BIM operations and projects in Canada.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and mentoring of a team of BIM Support Specialists (Architectural Revit)
Manage all BIM standards and practices.
Coordinate multiple concurrent BIM Architectural Revit projects; from very small designs to major architectural projects.
Coordinating projects with Architects, Project Managers, Job Captains and IT management.
Planning and forecasting the needs of the BIM design environment.
Review and evaluation of new BIM technologies, tools and methodologies.
Required Skills and Experience:
A degree or diploma in Architecture
10 years Architectural work expereince
3-5 years leadership, training and mentoring of a team of Revit BIM support specialists
2-3 years BIM (Architectural Revit) work experience
Experience with Canadian building codes and large commercial projects.
Experience managing all BIM standards and practices.
Experience coordinating multiple concurrent BIM projects (Architectural Revit); from very small designs to major architectural projects.
Experience coordinating projects with Architects, Project Managers and IT management.
Experience planning and forecasting the needs of the BIM design environment would be an asset.
Experience in the review and evaluation of new BIM technologies, tools and methodologies would be an asset.
Must have excellent English verbal and written communication skills
Must be a Canadian Citizen or have Canadian Permanent Resident Status

Title Interior Designer, Intermediate
Position Overview Work closely with the Senior Interior Designer and Project Manager to complete interior design and technical assignments. Responsibilities may include project management and contract administration.
Responsibilities & Duties
Plan
Work with Project Manager to create work plans, drawing lists, scope of services, budgets, and staffing requirements
Review and monitor project scope and initiate corrective actions in cooperation with the PM
Deliver
Contribute to the Kasian design process including creation of design concepts, generation of presentation material, and required submission documentation
Participate in the production of successful design and contract documentation in alignment with Kasian’s standards of quality and client program and budget needs
Prepare outline specifications and assist in detailed project specification development
Assist in design/ production meetings
Participate in client and public presentations
Coordinate consultant activity
Coordinate building and development permit submissions
Work with manager and authorities having jurisdiction to interpret and conform to codes and bylaws
Meet project criteria and deliver scheduled tasks
Build relationships with clients through working with manager to meet program and budget requirements
May assist with business development
Properly maintain project records
Keep current of innovative materials and products
Review
Conduct preliminary code and shop drawing reviews
Review project quality and monitor budget and schedule on an ongoing basis
Advise supervisor immediately of any project performance issues and work with them to resolve any problems
Minimum Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Interior Design
4 to 7 years of interior design experience
Strong knowledge of graphics software (AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Adobe Suite); Revit experience or knowledge is considered an asset
Demonstrated design skills , knowledge of design principles and elements, and creativity
Understanding of construction and construction administration process
Knowledge of applicable building codes and by-laws
Excellent time management and teamwork skills
Excellent communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem solving skills

Position Overview

Title BIM Support Specialist
Position Overview
This role is everything BIM (Building Information Modeling). From software to production, including 2D and 3D design work, the BIM Support Specialist plays a key role in our success as a forward thinking and innovative design firm. Working closely with the Global BIM Manager, the successful candidate will help educate and ensure that BIM standards and procedures are properly and consistently followed develop project standards. In addition you will conduct in-house training and maintain project archiving and retrieval.
Responsibilities & Duties
Provide comprehensive proactive BIM technical support for all local Model Keepers, project teams, and individual users
Educate and ensure that CADD standards and procedures are properly and consistently followed by end users and PM’s; escalate when needed to Global BIM Manager
Provide all local CADD training to individuals and project teams
Audit AutoCAD and Revit projects on an ongoing basis with each Model Keeper and PM
Provide support for all emergency troubleshooting scenarios
Work with Global BIM Manager on CADD Library creation and maintenance
Work closely with IT to ensure high efficiency of CADD applications and systems
Constantly evaluate users for up and coming Model Keepers for project roles and keep track of skill levels across all staff in the office
Work with PDG and Team Leader’s to facilitate appropriate CADD resource allocation to the projects
Coordinate AutoCAD and Revit work with other disciplines and consultants
Monitor external BIM helpdesk and tracks issues for reporting purposes
Develop and updated CADD training materials
Install all patches, service packs and utilities and maintain CADD profiles
Participate in monthly CADD team meetings
Minimum Requirements
Architectural Technology Diploma/ Architectural CAD Diploma or Bachelor degree combined with specific Revit and BIM work experience.
5+ years experience with drawings and detailing using AutoCAD and possibly Revit
Experience assisting others with CADD software
Technical proficiency in CADD software
Experience working on small to medium scale architectural projects
Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
Capacity to teach and support others on CADD
